What is Texas ERS?
The Emergency Response Service (ERS) is a program run by the Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT) that is designed to decrease the likelihood of rolling blackouts.
By enrolling, we may adjust your connected device(s) during electric grid emergencies to reduce their load when electric supply is limited (for example, an extremely cold winter day). You can always override any adjustments with actions like starting a charge directly from your car or changing your thermostat's temperature.
What is the enrollment deadline?
The enrollment deadline for Q4 2025 is October 1st. Once your application is verified, your enrollment rewards will appear on the Rewards tab on October 2nd. The program may start adjusting your device(s) for grid events starting on December 1st, and your participation rewards will be issued quarterly starting on January 2nd.
