Optiwatt's EV managed charging is accessed through your vehicle's Devices page. Once your vehicle is connected, this page is where you control exactly how and when your EV charges.
Selecting Your Vehicle
At the top of the Devices page is the Device Selector. Click your vehicle's card to view and modify its charging settings.
Enabling and Disabling Charge Settings
The Charge Settings toggle is the master switch for Optiwatt's managed charging. Its state has a significant impact on how your vehicle charges:
When Charge Settings are enabled (on):
- Optiwatt controls when your vehicle charges based on your configured Limits, Goals, Schedule, and Trips
- Manual charging commands sent through your vehicle's native OEM app (Tesla, Kia, etc.) may be overridden by Optiwatt to stay consistent with your Optiwatt settings
- If you need to manually start a charge outside your normal schedule, use the Start Charging button on the Optiwatt Home page — do not use your OEM app, as Optiwatt may override it
When Charge Settings are disabled (off):
- Optiwatt stops sending charging commands to your vehicle
- Your vehicle will charge according to its own built-in schedule or any settings in your OEM app
- If you are enrolled in a utility program, turning off Charge Settings may affect your program participation and rewards
